What is a Log Book Service?

A log book service is a service that changes every item that the manufacturer recommends based on time or kilometers.

Why do I need a log book service?

You need a log book service if your car is still under new car warranty. If you don't then the warranty can be effected. Otherwise there is no real reason to do everything by the logbook.

What happens if I miss a Service?

While missing a service is not great for the car itself it can also void any warranty you have on it.

Do you have Loan cars and how much do they cost?

We do have loan cars and they are $15 per day.

Will I lose my New Car Warranty if I don't go back to the dealer?

No you wont. In fact, manufacturers are not allowed to force you to take the vehicle back to them for servicing although they imply it keeps your vehicle warranty intact. Having your vehicle serviced by an independent workshop like Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre not only saves you money, but the whole process is more convenient without affecting your new car warranty at all. I have lost my Log Book, do I need it?

You don't need your log book. All of our records are digital and we have access to to software that lets us know what is due for your vehicle.

Do you provide Digital reports for the work you have done?

Yes, Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre can certainly provide Digital reports for the work we have done?

Do you provide Digital reports of what's wrong with my car?

Yes, Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre are happy to provide Digital reports of anything we find wrong with your car?

How long will the service take?

It will generally take between 1.2 hours and 1.5 hours, however we do ask that customers leave the car with us for the day incase it needs extra work.

How much will my service cost?

It depends on the type of vehicle and the grade of oil it uses.

How can I pay for my Service?

You can pay cash, credit or eftpos.

When are you Open?

we are open monday to friday 7am- 5.30pm.

Are you open on weekends?

No. We are not open on weekends.

What is the earliest time I can bring my car in?

You can bring your car in to Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre from 7:00 am onwards.

Can I drop off my car after hours?

You can but its not ideal.

Is there a secure key drop off box after hours?

There is somewhere to leave a key when dropping it off.

Can I collect my car after hours?

Not Really.

Can you pick up my car from home?

Unfortunately Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre are unable to pick your car up from home.

Can you drop me home when I deliver my car for servicing or repair?

Depending on how far from the workshop you are we usually can.

What happens if something is not right after my car service?

Then all you have to do is give us a call and let us have a look at it. Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre take great pride in our work, but if something doesn't seem quite right then just let us know. We are happy to sort out any problems you might have. Plus you have the added assurance of our REPCO Nationwide Warranty if you find yourself out of town.

Will you give me reminders when my next sercive is due?

Reminders are automatically generated at 6 months. You will need to keep an eye on the kilometres though.

Can my car be serviced at the same time it is being repaired?

Yes. Your car can certainly car be serviced at the same time it is being repaired.

How do I book my car in for a service?

Either phone the office during office hours or use the online booking form

How often should I really service my car?

Newer cars only need to be serviced every 10,000KM or 12 months. Older cars should be serviced every 5000km or 6 months.

I don't drive much, do I still need a service?

Yes, at least once a year to prevent the oil from going off or the oil filter o-ring from leaking.

Can you fix other things while my car is being serviced?

Of course we can fix other things while it is being serviced. We'll let you know first.

Can you wash my car?

Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre do not wash cars but we will vacuum it

Do you use good quality oils and parts?

Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre only use Penrite oil and Ryco oil filters.

Do you check my brakes during a service?

Yes, Schneider Mechanical & Tyre Centre will check your brakes during a service?
